Be Nice at OMS

At the start of the year, the "be nice" campaign became a partner with Otsego Middle School. Middle school can be a tough age and OMS staff want to help promote positive behaviors and good characteristics for students, so this program fits right in with their goals.

Food for Families

OMS students came through for local families in a big way with food and money donations this December in the school's annual food drive. The drive benefits Christian Neighbors and is one of the largest single food donation drives for the local organization that helps families in Otsego, Plainwell and Martin.

Building New Bridges

Just ahead of the holidays, several Otsego teachers and students went to Plainwell High School to help volunteers pack up food boxes for local families in need. They were helping out with the Plainwell Volunteer Christmas Project which collects food and toys to give to families at Christmas.

Off the Court

For the third year, Otsego's JV girls basketball team has traveled to the Plainwell Nursing Home to spread some holiday cheer to residents. The girls spend a couple of hours with a few of the residents playing bingo, providing snacks and even prizes. Bingo winners get to choose from prizes that the girls made themselves.

Cookie Capers

One day a year, hundreds of plates of cookies are assembled in quick fashion to help local families find some holiday cheer during difficult times. This annual Cookie Capers event helps families with Wings of Hope Hospice.
